DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Calhoun Community College is now within Decatur city limits.
The city council voted unanimously to annex the school into Decatur. That means the city will provide police and fire protection for the 110 acre campus.
Calhoun asked for the annexation.
The State Board of Education previously approved the move.
More than 5,000 students attend the community college.
