LACEY'S SPRING, AL (WAFF) -

Surveillance video may help catch a thief in Morgan County.

Police are going over the video from the gas station robbery in Lacey's Spring.

Sheriff's investigators said a man tied up the clerk at the Food Town store Monday night.

Deputies hope someone recognizes the crook from surveillance video.

It's also the audio on the surveillance tape they think may help someone recognize the armed robber.

The crook managed to get the register open and grabbed the cash. He remembered to take the loot with him but, at first, forgot the gun.

He ran back inside Food Town to get it, this time without his orange cap, so it can be seen that he's bald on the top of his head, and his stature can be clearly seen.

"We're hoping somebody will notice the voice, his mannerisms, that type of thing - that somebody might notice and give us some leads on," said Morgan County Sheriff's Investigator Chad Smith.

There was another robbery at Food Town in May. Authorities were able to catch two suspects after surveillance video was shown, and they hope to catch this guy now.

If you think you know who this armed robber is, call the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
