ARAB, AL (WAFF) -
The Arab City Parks and Recreation department director was taken to the hospital after a car hit him.
Police said a VW Bug hydroplaned and struck Steve Hallman just after 11 a.m. on Sundown Drive.
Police said the driver tried to brake and started skidding. The driver hit Hallman, who was looking at a culvert and guard rail when it happened.
Officials said Hallman was conscious and alert.
Hallman has a broken ankle and some serious scrapes and bruises but is expected to be okay.
The driver of the car wasn't hurt.
Arab Police are handling the investigation.
