Baton Rouge man dies in Ohio police chase and shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge man is one of two people shot and killed after a police chase in Ohio.

Timothy Ray Russell, 43, who was born in Baton Rouge, was shot to death in Cleveland on Nov. 29.

Malissa Williams, 30, also died in the shooting.

Police said shots were fired from Russell's car and a 25-minute chase ensued.

WOIO-TV in Cleveland reported 13 officers fired 137 shots at Russell and Williams.

Russell was reportedly shot 23 times, while Williams suffered 24 gunshot wounds.

Investigators said no gun was found in Russell's car.

The Ohio Bureau of Investigation is now looking into the case.
