LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Court documents filed in the case against a Lauderdale County man charged with murder state he cut the victim's throat.
24-year-old Shannon Paul Brewer is in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $1,000,000 bond.
Investigators say he killed Mark Dishon and assaulted Sandra Sikes at Dishon's home on Lauderdale County Road 638 November 19. Court documents also state Shannon Brewer took a handgun from the victim.
The suspect's brother Jerry Brewer is accused of helping Shannon Brewer leave the state after the murder. Jerry Brewer is in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
U.S. Marshals captured the brothers November 20 in Tallahassee, Florida. The Brewers returned to Alabama to face charges November 29.
Shannon Brewer will appear in court January 7. A hearing date is not yet set for Jerry Brewer.
