LACEY'S SPRING, AL (WAFF) -
Morgan County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who robbed a gas station and tied up a clerk.
Sheriff Ana Franklin said a man with a bandana on his face walked in the Foodtown store on Highway 231 in Lacey's Spring around 11 p.m. Monday.
The crook showed the clerk a gun, told her to get on the ground, and used a zip tie to tie her hands behind her back.
He tried banging on the register over and over but then had to ask the clerk how to open it.
He ran out with $80 and ended up leaving his gun on the counter. He turned around to get it, and deputies said a surveillance camera was able to get a clear shot of the man.
Deputies and a K-9 unit tracked the thief to Parks Chapel Road. They think the man may have had a car waiting there.
