ATHENS, AL (AP) -
The Limestone County man accused of killing his grandmother earlier this year will not go to trial Monday as scheduled.
James Paul Pigg is charged with the murder of 69-year-old Barbara Delaney.
Investigators say Pigg shot his grandmother and beat her with a hammer.
Pigg lived with Delaney not long before the murder. The week before the murder Sheriff's deputies served Pigg with an eviction notice. Delaney stated that Pigg did not pay rent and his destructive habits impacted her health.
