MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Emergency crews responded to a fatal car wreck on Highway 231/431 in front of the Flint Crossing shopping center.
Troopers said that a black Mazda sedan t-boned a gray Toyota sedan.
The driver of the Toyota, Charles Shelton, had to be extricated from the car. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition. He died later that day.
The driver of the Mazda, Nicholas Nechy, sustained minor injuries. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
Madison County Deputies and State Troopers responded to the scene.
