BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Authorities are investigating a crash that left a man dead Friday night. It happened on Burbank Drive around 8:15 p.m.
Police say Lawrence Kelson, 18, was involved in a physical altercation at the Cracker Barrel service station located on the corner of Elvin Dr. and Burbank. For reasons unknown, Kelson ran out of the store nude and attempted to steal a vehicle that was in the parking lot. After he couldn't get the car started, he ran to Burbank Drive and laid down in the middle of the street. He was hit by three cars and died on the scene.
It is unknown if Kelson was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Toxicology results are pending.
