ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Former Albertville city councilman, Chuck Ellis, was injured when he was hit by a truck Wednesday morning.
Albertville police said Ellis was jogging in the crosswalk at the intersection of East Main Street and Baltimore Avenue around 7:15 a.m. when a teenager driving a small pickup truck hit him.
Ellis was taken to Huntsville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his head, legs, and shoulder. He is expected to recover.
The driver of the truck was not injured. According to police, the driver's windshield was fogging up at the time of the accident, and the sun was in his eyes. Investigators said the driver did not see Ellis crossing the street.
Charges aren't expected to be filed against the driver, and the investigation is ongoing.
