ROGERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Vandalism to a Rogersville cemetery was reported to police Monday by the caretaker.
Headstones and a wall in Liberty Cemetery, on the corner of Hickory Drive and Lee Street, were damaged.
Some of the headstones date back to the 1800's. The vandals stole about 50 large stones from a wall in the cemetery, and in the process, knocked over and broke several headstones.
Police are investigating the crime.
Investigators did not say that this vandalism is connected with another similar case in Limestone County. A suspect in that case was arrested Monday.
