LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A Limestone County murder suspect waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning. The case against Joel Moyers will now go to a Limestone County grand jury.
Moyers is charged with the murder of Brandon Hydrick. Prosecutors say Moyers shot and killed Hydrick with an AK47 in September.
According to investigators, Hydrick and his brother turned around on Moyers' property when they got lost after a bonfire.
Moyers told deputies he thought the men were trespassing and fired a warning shot. That bullet went into the truck and hit Hydrick in the back.
