HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Two escaped juveniles from the Mt. Meigs youth facility in Montgomery County have been arrested in Huntsville.

Brandon Kyle Evans,16, escaped Saturday night, along with Zachary Melson, 16, and another unnamed juvenile. Evans and Melson were captured by the US Marshals in Madison County Wednesday afternoon.

The two were stopped around 3 p.m. on University Drive near the Target shopping center. Madison County Sheriff's Department and Huntsville Police assisted US Marshals in the arrest.

The two escapees were traveling in a maroon Nissan and were taken down by the US Marshals in the parking lot of Marshalls at 6275 University Drive.

Investigators said the three teens beat one of the facility workers so badly that his teeth were knocked out and he lost a thumb. The teens allegedly used keys taken from a staff member to take a vehicle. They then used the vehicle to crash through a gate to make their escape.

The third juvenile from Franklin County has not been caught yet.

"We are extremely pleased these two are in custody," said Allen Peaton, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Services at Mt. Meigs.

Evans and Melson face several charges due to their escape and their criminal activity while on the run.
