DECATUR, AL (WAFF)
Attorneys for Casey Travis have filed a motion asking for permission to withdraw from the case.
Travis is charged with the 2009 murder of her three-year-old son Jayden.
Morgan County investigators say the child died after ingesting the drug Suboxone.
In a motion filed in Morgan County Circuit Court, defense attorneys state there has been a breakdown in communication and they do not feel they can effectively represent Travis. The motion also states Travis has failed to comply with the terms set out in the retainer agreement.
A judge has called a hearing for December 20 at the Morgan County Courthouse in Decatur.
Travis is scheduled to go to trial February 11, 2013.
