LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
It's been two full weeks since the election, but a couple of races in the Tennessee Valley are only now being settled with recounts.
Lawrence County is perhaps the closest race in the state.
On election night, just one vote separated the candidates in the District 2 Board of Education race, so provisional ballots were counted, and the result flipped.
Republican Norman Pool, who led by just one vote, trailed by six after those ballots were factored in.
Monday, poll workers went through a recount, and Gary Bradford held on to his lead by just two votes.
The race is now settled, but Pool can contest the recount if he likes.
