LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) -
Auburn police say an employee at the Lee County Emergency Agency was arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence.
Kathy Raines, the Lee County Emergency Management Agency's Director, was arrested Saturday evening.
She was booked into jail and was released the same evening after posting $500 bond.
News Leader 9 called her office Tuesday morning, but she deferred comments to her attorney.
"Mrs. Raines did submit to an alcohol breath test," said Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson. "However,
Mrs. Raines refused to take a blood test to determine if controlled substances
were present. As Chief of Police I stand behind our officer's decisions and
know they have a very difficult job to do."
No other details about her arrest were readily available.
