COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Charges are pending against John Myatt of Killen for allegedly ramming a deputy's car and shooting at deputies.
Investigators said it all started when Myatt tried to rob a Shell station at knife-point in Sheffield. An officer chased him to the east side of the county. Along the way, Leighton Police and Colbert County Deputies joined the chase to help catch him.
Colbert County Sheriff Ronnie May said Myatt rammed a deputy's car multiple times. He said a deputy fired shots, and Myatt fired back.
He said Myatt then drove off, but deputies caught him after State Troopers set up stop sticks near Jarmon Lane.
