MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has officially kicked off the Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Ringing campaign for 2012.
The governor was joined by officials with the Salvation Army at the state capitol to mark the campaign's start.
The Montgomery Salvation Army has been serving the River Region since 1899.
In addition to providing emergency shelter, food, clothing and day-to-day assistance, the Salvation Army also ministers to the spiritual needs of people throughout the area.
