TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -
The stars seem to be aligning for the Crimson Tide, who are now back in contention to play for a national title.
Bama fans were glued to TV's all weekend, but they were paying attention to many other games on Saturday. In order for Bama to move into the number 2 spot in the BCS, two of the top three teams had to lose. Seems like a long shot right?
Well, Alabama fans got their wish with both Oregon and Kansas State losing Saturday night. Many Youtube videos show Alabama fans on the University Boulevard strip going crazy after seeing the Ducks and the Wildcats both lose. Whether you were on the strip or the comfort of your own home, the cheers could be heard all over town.
Needless to say, the official BCS announcement got a few cheers, but nothing like what we saw in T-town Saturday night.
Before the Tide can look ahead to Miami, they must first take care of business this weekend, facing in state rival Auburn. If they win that game, they can move on to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta and face Georgia. The winner of that game will likely face Notre Dame in the National Championship game.
