Police are casting a wider net in their hunt for a Lauderdale County Jail escapee who said he won't be taken alive.
Two men walked away from work release early Friday morning, and one of them, Daniel Allen Davis, is still on the loose.
Davis and Raymond Gibson Jr. walked away from a work release at approximately 5:45 a.m.
Gibson turned himself in shortly after, but Davis is still unaccounted for.
Gibson is a suspect in the murder of Savannah Parrish. He posted bond for the murder charge, but he pleaded guilty in August to a separate burglary charge, which is why he was on work release.
Davis was also on work release for a burglary charge.
Officials said Davis told other inmates earlier in the day he would not be taken alive. He is considered a threat to police and the community.
If you have any information on his whereabouts, contact police immediately.
