A Madison County judge signed an order granting one member of the Amy Bishop Anderson defense team $100,426.91. Judge Alan Mann stated in that order that he reviewed the claim presented by Roy Miller and believes the information to be "true and correct."

An order has also been filed for attorney Robert Tuten. A final cost was not listed for Tuten, and the judge stated while the bill is reasonable, the certification is not an approval of the amount submitted. Court filings do not show a bill for the third member of the defense team, Barry Abston.

Bishop Anderson shot six people during a biology department meeting at UAH in February 2010. Three of those victims died.

Bishop Anderson pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted murder. She also agreed to plead guilty to capital murder. In the state of Alabama, a defendant pleading guilty to capital murder must go before a jury. Bishop Anderson's jury found her guilty and she was sentenced to life in prison without parole. She is now appealing that verdict and sentence.

Attorney Ronald Smith will represent Bishop Anderson during the appeal process. Smith was appointed by Judge Mann.

A notice of appeal has been filed, but no reasons for appeal have been given.

Bishop Anderson is currently housed at Tutwiler Prison for Women.
