ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -
A Limestone County man charged with murder did not appear in court Tuesday as scheduled.
Joel Moyers is charged with the murder of Brandon Hydrick. Hydrick was shot and killed in September after a camping trip with his brother.
Investigators said the men tried to turn their truck around near Moyers' property on Fennell Road near Tanner.
Moyers told police he thought the men were trespassers, so he fired a warning shot. That shot went into the truck and hit Hydrick in the back.
Moyers waived his preliminary hearing and a new date has not been set.
