Motorcyclist killed in possible drunk driving wreck

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Charges are pending in a fatal wreck that left one man dead.

Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department said a blue 2001 Dodge Ram and a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle collided at the intersection of Highway 53 and Stringfield Road Saturday night around 9 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle, Stanley Wade "Easy" Garner of Harvest, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said the driver of the Dodge, Willie C. McCord of Huntsville, was uninjured in the wreck and is suspected of drinking alcohol before the wreck.

Police took blood and urine samples from McCord at Huntsville Hospital for a toxicology kit. The samples will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for analysis

Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
