HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A major defense contractor now expects major job losses ahead of the budget debate in Washington.
Boeing announced Wednesday that it's cutting defense management jobs by 30 percent, just one of numerous companies that could be potentially affected by sequestration Congress has set in place for the beginning of the new year if a new budget is not set.
As Boeing's defense business shrinks, the company said it has to cut costs by more than $2 billion.
Boeing said it can't predict exactly how many people it will actually let go, because it's trying to place at least some of them in its growing commercial aviation business.
