HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Kids of all ages have a new place to play
in North Huntsville.
Nearly 150 volunteers broke a sweat
building the new Holmes Avenue park Saturday.
Humana Midsouth funded the project. Member of
the nonprofit group KaBOOM joined forces with the city of Huntsville and the
Boys and Girls Club to get the park built.
The park has a 2500 square foot playground,
picnic areas and fitness stations.
"It's important
as part of our mission to give back to the communities and promote engaging,
healthy well-being kinds of equipment of environments for our kids and adults
to be active in," said Doug Holland with Humana Midsouth.
The park was finished and kids
were able to play by the afternoon.
