SCOTTSBORO, AL (WAFF) -
A Scottsboro man pleaded guilty to aggravated child abuse involving his own young son.
Casey Rose is now facing 10 years in jail, though he asked a judge for leniency on that sentence.
Rose entered his plea and was sentenced on Tuesday.
He was arrested in October 2011 and charged with causing injuries related to shaken baby syndrome involving his 7-week-old son.
Scottsboro Police said the incident happened at their home on Worthington Street.
Earlier this month, attorneys for Rose sought to have a mental exam of Rose, which was opposed to by prosecutors.
Instead, Rose entered a guilty plea but is seeking probation.
A pre-sentence report is being drawn up for a probation hearing.
That hearing date has not yet been set.
