DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
A major Decatur business is helping local law enforcement.
3m donated $3000 to the Decatur Police Department through a company grant.
The money will go to the department's special response unit for new equipment.
"3M is very involved in the community, and we believe in giving back to the community, supporting the local community. The Decatur Police Department is a big resource for us, and we're always glad to help when we can," said 3M security supervisor, Roger Martin.
The department will purchase personal safety gear with the money, like bulletproof vests and gas masks.
