MADISON, AL (WAFF) - Authorities are searching for two male juveniles who escaped from a juvenile detention facility.

Madison Police said two 16-year-old black males escaped from the Three Springs facility on Brownsferry Road just before 8 a.m. Tuesday.

One subject is from Russellville. He is 5'9", weighs 160 pounds and was charged with harassment and assault. The second subject is from Eutah and is 5'9", weighs 125 pounds. He is charged with probation violation for robbery. He also has tattoos on his arms and neck.

Both subjects are wearing dark blue shirts and tan pants.

Madison Police said they tracked the escapees to an area near Liberty Middle School, but the trail went cold. Police believe they got into a vehicle.

They are still at large, and both are considered dangerous.

Madison Police said two eyewitnesses saw the two teens enter the woods off of Grove Park Lane and Grove Village Way, which is a neighborhood that is still being developed. They said the two were still wearing the tan pants and blue shirts.

Police have set up a command post there.

Madison Police, the Alabama Department of Corrections, K-9 units and a state issued helicopter are all involved in the search.

They are asking everyone to avoid the area of County Line Road, Gillespie Road, Grove Park Lane, Liberty Square and Browns Ferry Road until further notice.

Anyone who sees the teens or anything suspicious in the Three Springs area should call police immediately.
