DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
The investigation into an elderly woman's death at a Decatur retirement home is underway.
Family members said 94-year-old Elizabeth Street was found in a water-filled ditch outside the Country Cottage Assisted Living Home.
She developed pneumonia and died a short time later.
They believe her wheelchair rolled into the ditch during a fire drill.
Decatur Police said they're waiting on a report from the coroner before determining if they'll get involved.
State health officials say they've received an incident report from the facility, and they're taking a look at what happened.
