GADSDEN, AL (WBRC) -
The Etowah County Sheriff's Office seized 12 gambling devices from a local VFW Post Sunday, Oct. 28.
The VFW Post 8600 is located on Rainbow Drive in Gadsden. Sheriff Todd Etrenkin says a search warrant was served Sunday at the post after an investigation uncovered the machines.
Terri H. Smith, the manager of the post, was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a gambling device and one count of promoting gambling. Smith was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on a $2,000 bond and was later released.
The machines are described as eSweeps devices, which allows players to put money onto an account for continual play.
The Sheriff's Office said in a press release that additional charges are pending in this case. Check back to MyFoxAl.com for more information as it becomes available.
