Texas A&M wallops Auburn, 63-21

The Auburn TIgers quickly found themselves overwhelmed on Saturday in their game against Texas A&M.

The Aggies dominated the first quarter completely with three touchdowns. On their first possession, A&M drove down the field in 9 plays to cover 70 yards for their touchdown. The score was made by Ryan Swope after grabbing a 16-yard pass from Johnny Manziel. The second touchdown in the first happened after an 11-play drive for 67 yards. Johnny Manziel rushed for 6 yards across the goal line at the 5:38 mark. Ryan Swope grabbed a 19-yard Manziel pass for the third touchdown to cap off a 5-play drive. Aggie kicker Taylor Bertolet succeeded in all of the extra points.

At the beginning of the second quarter, the Aggies scored their fourth unanswered touchdown. A 6-play drive was finished off with a 34-yard rush by Christine Michael. Taylor Bertolet kicked the extra point to set A&M's score at 28.

Auburn got on the scoreboard around 6 minutes in the second quarter.The Tigers covered 82 yards in 9 plays and wrapped it up when Tre Mason pushed through the Aggie defense for a yard and the score. Cody Parkey kicked the extra point.

Texas A&M added two more touchdowns before the game went to halftime. Following Auburn's touchdown, the Aggies made a 9-play drive to cover 77 yards. Johnny Manziel rushed two yards across the goal line with 5:22 remaining in the half. The Aggies returned to the endzone around 4 minutes of gametime later when Ben Malena rushed 7 yards to cap off a 5-play drive. Taylor Bertolet's kicks were good on both touchdowns. The teams headed to the locker rooms with a score of 42-7.

After halftime, the Aggies boosted their lead by another 7. To end a 4-play drive to cover 67-yards, Johnny Manziel rushed for 20 yards across the goal line. Taylor Bertolet kicked the field goal.

Auburn got their second touchdown in the game around the 9:47 mark in the third quarter. The Tigers' offense found their mojo in their passing game and covered 74 yards in 4 plays. Quarterback Johnathan Wallace passed to C.J. Uzomah for 27 yards to get the score. Cody Parkey kicked the extra point to bring the score to 49-14.

A&M answered the score with their own touchdown. The Aggies covered 71 yards in 12 plays and finished with a Trey Williams rush for 1 yard across the goal line. Taylor Bertolet's kick was good.

Auburn added another touchdown to their score at the end of the 3rd quarter. The 6-play drive covered 75 yards with the big play being a 27-yard Wallace pass to Emory Blake for the score at the 1:33 mark. Cody Parkey's kick set the score at 56-21.

The ninth Aggie touchdown came around halfway through the 4th quarter.The 11 play drive ended when Quarterback Jameill Showers landed a 2-yard pass to Malcome Kennedy for the score. Taylor Bertolet's kick brought the score to 63-21, the final score for the game.

Next week, Auburn takes on New Mexico State. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m.
