Tennessee man indicted for aggravated statutory rape

LAWRENCEBURG, TN (WAFF) -

A grand jury indicted a Tennessee man on rape charges.

On Friday, October 26th, 2012, investigators with the Lawrenceburg Police Department, arrested 45-year-old George Edward Stagg.

He was indicted on sixcounts of aggravated statutory rape.

Investigators report that this arrest stems following an investigation, where Staggs reportedly had an unlawful sexual relationship with a 17-year-old Lawrenceburg girl.

Staggs is currently being held in the Lawrence County Jail under a $60,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Lawrence County Circuit Court on December 10th.
