Man indicted for Rainsville Fred's shooting

RAINSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The DeKalb County Sheriff's department has made an indictment in the Rainsville Fred's shooting.

Kelly Jack Mayo has been indicted on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of shooting into an occupied business and one count of robbery.

On August 24, Mayo allegedly walked up to the door of Fred's department store and shot through the glass door. He hit two employees.

One of the men, 25-year-old Josh Nance was paralyzed from the chest down. The other man, 39-year-old Matthew Whitt, was shot in the spine.

Mayo remains in the Georgia jail on $250,000 bond.

He also faces charges out of Cedartown, Georgia for a separate robbery case.
