Woman killed in wreck involving driver training vehicle

GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Guntersville woman was killed in a wreck involving a drivers education vehicle.

Investigators said a 1993 Cutlass Ciera driven by 72-year-old Sarah Moody collided with a Sardis High School driver training vehicle on Highway 431 at the red light in front of Chick-fil-A and Walmart at 10:25 a.m. Thursday.

Three 15-year-old students and the driving instructor, Michael Rutledge, were inside the drivers ed car. They were taken to Marshall Medical Center South with non-life-threatening injuries.

Moody was taken to Marshall Medical Center North where she died of her injuries.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation. Police have not said who was driving the drivers education vehicle and the names of the students are being withheld because of their age.
