MADISON, AL (WAFF) -
Madison Police arrested 30-year-old Richard Lee Greenwell of Somerville for stealing copper wire from new homes under construction.
Greenwell was taken into custody Tuesday morning at a house under construction in the Crown Point neighborhood off Gillespie Road. Officers said Greenwell had copper electrical wire he stole from homes in that subdivision.
Investigators believe Greenwell also stole copper wire from homes in the Ashbury neighborhood off County Line Road.
Greenwell was charged with two counts of burglary and 11 counts of theft. Police said more charges could be pending. His bond was set at $25,600.
