HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
State Troopers responded to a car accident on Chapman Mountain in Madison County.
Officials said a red Mustang heading east on Highway 72 moved into the blind spot of an 18 wheeler truck. The truck changed lanes, causing the Mustang to swerve in west bound traffic.
The Mustang struck a black G6 Pontiac, splitting the Mustang in half.
The drivers of the Mustang and the G6 were transported to Huntsville Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The drivers were both taken to the hospital.
