HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Officials with Redstone Arsenal announced that they will be
testing a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense missile round on Thursday.
The test will take place between 7 and 9 a.m. on the south
side of the arsenal.
The test is designed to verify the system's compliance with
the nation's Insensitive Munitions law. The law states that munitions must be
stable enough to withstand mechanical shocks, fire and impact.
The test will consist of a liquid fuel fire. The test will
produce large amounts of smoke and should last about 45 minutes.
