The Madison County coroner confirmed Warren Crutcher, the man sought in connection with the murders of four people in Tennessee, as the body found in Hazel Green, Alabama, Tuesday morning.

What began with multiple phone calls from a 3-year-old boy turned into a multi-agency murder investigation spanning two states.

Six bodies were found at four separate crime scenes in Tennessee and Alabama. Three women and a baby were killed in Lincoln County, Tennessee, and two men were found dead in Madison County, Alabama.

Lincoln County Murders

The bodies of 22-year-old Chabreya Campbell, her 18-month-old son, Rico Ragland, and 21-year-old Amber McCaulley were found inside a home on Huntsville Highway in Fayetteville, Tennessee, Monday morning. Investigators and family members said Campbell was six months pregnant. Her 3-year-old child was not injured and called a family friend for help. Campbell and McCaulley were high school friends.

A few hours later, investigators found another body at a home on Fox Wood Drive, just a few miles from the first crime scene. That's where 21-year-old Jessica Brown lived with 24-year-old Warren Crutcher. She was dead when investigators arrived. The couple's two-month-old baby was not hurt.

Investigators haven't said how the victims died.

After the murders in Tennessee, authorities were searching for Crutcher as a person of interest in the investigation.

Huntsville Shooting

Huntsville Police found a man shot to death in a home on Ortega Circle around 1 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Jeffrey Pope dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. Crutcher's mother said Pope was a friend of her son's.

According to investigators with the TBI, the Huntsville shooting is connected to the murders in Tennessee. They have not said how the crimes are connected.

Police said three men, dressed in black, were seen running from the house right after the shooting. K-9 units were brought to look for the men overnight, but police did not find them.

Body found in Hazel Green

Tuesday morning, utility crews found the body of a black man in a wooded area off B H Reeves Road near the Alabama-Tennessee state line.

The same investigators from the first crime scenes in Tennessee also responded to the scene in Hazel Green.

Tuesday night, the Madison County coroner's officer confirmed that the body found in Hazel Green Tuesday morning was Warren Crutcher, the man sought for multiple murders across state lines.

The coroner did confirm that suicide was not being looked at as a possibility of Crutcher's death.
