FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
A Shoals man was been indicted on capital murder charges in the shooting death of his cousin.
Raymond Clemmons was brought in for procedural measures that have to take place once a capital murder indictment has been handed down.
Court officials wanted to make sure Clemmons understood his rights and that he does have appointed counsel to represent him during trial.
Clemmons is charged with killing his cousin, 50-year-old Jerry Ivy.
Police said Clemmons shot and killed Ivy inside his pickup truck during some sort of ongoing altercation.
Clemmons has been in jail since the shooting because he was out on a suspended drug sentence when the shooting took place, and his bond was revoked.
