Dozens turn out for Ala. National Guard homecoming

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Dozens of soldiers arrived home to family and friends in Huntsville Sunday.

The members of the Alabama National Guard 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, which is headquartered in Florence, arrived at the Huntsville International Airport where their family members and supporters waited.

The 450 person unit has been based in the Kandahar airfield area since November 2011 providing Communications support to joint international commands including International Security Assistance Force.

The battalion is commanded by Lt. Col. Steven T. Grigsby. 

The remaining personnel will be arriving in Huntsville in the near future.
