MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
The Alabama unemployment rate for September fell for the first time in five months.
For the month of September, the unemployment rate was 8.3 percent, down .2 percent from August.
Officials said Alabama's online job database has been seeing a record breaking number of job postings, logging a high of 12,764 in September.
The counties with the lowest unemployment rates were Shelby at 5.2 percent, Coffee at 6.2 percent, and Lee, Limestone and Madison at 6.4 percent.
The counties with the highest unemployment rate were Wilcox with 17.8 percent, Bullock with 15.4 percent and Dallas with 15.1 percent.
