HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Officials with Redstone Arsenal are doing their part to help service members home from war.
More soldiers died by suicide last year than at war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On Thursday, Redstone Arsenal hosted an event called Stand Down.
US Army Major General Lynn Collyar said everyone can do a better job communicating with soldiers, and that will help lower the suicide rate.
"If soldiers email back and forth or text, you don't get that same personal interaction. You're not looking them in the eye to see that something is wrong," said Collyar.
We'll have more on this story on Monday's Redstone Report.
