MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A Marshall County man was arrested after police said he attacked cars and a home, with a gun and an axe, and he got shot himself.
Steven Bruce Childress, 43 of Albertville, was charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and criminal mischief.
Sheriff's officials said Childress went to a home off Bonds Lane in the Pleasant Grove community and began shooting up two cars Sunday around 1 a.m.
He came back that afternoon with an axe and began breaking the windshield of a car.
When he turned the axe on the front door of the home, the home owner shot through the door hitting Childress in the arm.
Childress fled the scene and later wrecked his car at the corner of Highway 205 and Pleasant Grove Road. The vehicle ran through a fence and did damage to three boats at a for sale boat lot.
One boat's motor was damaged, another knocked off, and yet another boat's hull was damaged from the impact.
Childress was taken to the Marshall County Jail with no bond after being released from the hospital on Monday.
