LINCOLN COUNTY, TN (WAFF) -

Despite Election Day being weeks away, early voting begins in Tennessee on October 17.

To vote early the person must appear in person at a commission office or satellite voting location.

Early voting ends five days before the election.

This process is allowed in 32 states and D.C.

Alabama lawmakers were asked if they would ever consider early voting in the state.

"I happen to be on the side that believing that we have Election Day for a reason, and that's where you need to go to the polls and everyone needs to go and vote at the same time. That's not to say that it's something we won't consider," said Rep. Mike Hubbard (R) Lee County.

The second debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney is on Tuesday, October 16.

It live be streamed live on WAFF.com beginning at 8 p.m.
