DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Two people were arrested Friday after residents called police regarding a large fight and gun shots.
Residents in the area of Cardinal Drive in Decatur called police and said approximately 15 people were fighting and one of the offenders was armed with a gun.
When officers arrived on the scene, they reported hearing multiple gun shots. The man that had fired the shots had run into one of the apartments.
Officers secured the area and searched the area. Officials located a DPMS .308 caliber rifle that had been reported stolen during a September 25 burglary.
Officers were able to locate and arrest Keontey Staten. He was charged with wrongful discharge of a firearm and reckless endangerment.
Police also arrested Krystal Staten and charged her with disorderly conduct.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
