LORETTO, TN (WAFF) -
A teenage girl died and another person was critically injured Wednesday evening following a wreck in Lawrence County.
The crash occurred along Old Florence Pulaski Road around 6 p.m. and involved a car and a box truck.
Rianna L. Watson, 17, of Leoma, TN, was driving a GMC Envoy west when her vehicle crossed the center line and hit the box truck that was traveling east, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol
Watson died in the wreck. Her passenger, Tanna J. Pesnell, 17, of Loretto, TN, was transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical, where she died on Thursday.
The driver of the box truck was not hurt.
The school the student's attended was on fall break this week, but they opened at 10 a.m. Thursday to offer counseling for students and teachers.
