RAINSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Governor Robert Bentley authorized a reward to find the shooter of two Fred's Store employees in Rainsville.
Josh Nance and Matt Whitt were seriously injured when a man in a ski mask tried to enter the store after closing. The man shot Whitt and Nance through the front door and fled on foot.
No arrest has been made, though the investigation is ongoing.
Bentley's Proclamation of Reward authorizes a $2500 payment for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter in this crime.
The Proclamation states only private citizens can receive the reward, no law enforcement agents or their blood relatives.
Earlier in October, a supporter who wishes to remain anonymous offered a $5,000 reward, bringing the reward total to $7500.
Anyone with information about the case should call the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office at 256-845-3801.
