On October 9, 2012, the new organization, Dream Up Baltimore, will host its inaugural event.
Dream Up Baltimore is the evolution of Think Big Baltimore. According to Danny BenDebba, Co-founder of Think Big Baltimore and Founder of Dream Up Baltimore, Think Big focused on helping entrepreneurs create successful ventures via education, inspiration, and motivation. Dream Up Baltimore adds a new element – community. It is an organization dedicated to uniting entrepreneurs, collaborators, and individuals who are serious about starting, building and growing profitable ventures that reach beyond themselves to serve the people and environment around them by cultivating collaborative ideas, opportunities, and partnerships.
The inaugural event, “Dream Up Baltimore Fall Fiesta”, is a cocktail happy hour given to recognize activities, events and people in Baltimore. Among those receiving recognition is Charlie Cronheim, a retired executive from Mobile Oil, for his contribution to the Baltimore community through his volunteer work with the Gutierrez Memorial Fund, John’s Hopkins Medical School, and The Center for Community Prosperity, a think tank and incubator for urban enterprise development. Etosha Lankatilleke, a student entrepreneur at the University of Baltimore will also be recognized for his successful venture, http://www.mybmore.net. Dream Up Baltimore’s Fall Fiesta will also highlight The Bench Mark Artisan Training Project launching this weekend as a partnership between the Ingoma Foundation and Gutierrez Studios who together will train individuals from East Baltimore in the arts of high-end wood and metal working as well as in business and entrepreneurship.
The major sponsor of this event is El Rodeo Tex-Mex Cantina and Grill in Towson, MD who is providing the venue, light fare, and specials on cocktails. Admission is by donation. Other sponsors include DAASN, MindMeMobile, Valpak, IGotSalsa, MyBmore.net, Grillo Jewelry, and en-HERgy
Patrick Tuttle and Joi Turne recently joined Danny BenDebba, the visionary behind Dream Up Baltimore.
