MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A Huntsville smoke shop was busted for selling the synthetic marijuana known as spice.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office said they made the bust at Voodoo Willy's Smoke Hut on Highway 72 east.
Deputies said they confiscated about 30 packs of spice from the store. They questioned an employee who claimed the stuff was legal because of some toxicology reports that came with the products.
However, the sheriff's department said any kind of synthetic marijuana is illegal in the state of Alabama.
The employee, Shawn Francis, was then arrested. He was charged with trafficking analogs.
Deputies also arrested the store owner, Ronald Young. He is also charged with trafficking analogs. A $50,000 bond has been set for both men.
