Officials seize 36 albums of child porn during investigation

MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) -

Colbert County officials arrested a man after they said they found dozens of albums containing child pornography.

60-year-old Myron Joe Sizemore of Muscle Shoals was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of pornographic material.

Police said Sizemore was indicted in September after emergency responders found the pornography in his home on August 3.

Crews said they responded to the home for a medical call and saw what they believed to be child pornography. They immediately contacted police.

Police questioned Sizemore and he agreed to a search. Officials said they found 36 albums of child pornography. Investigators said some of the children in the photos were as young as 3, and many were engaged in sexual activity.

Officials seized the photo albums, two computers and a number of DVDs.

Sizemore told police he was getting the photos through the American Nudist Society, of which he is a member.

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday, and Sizemore was taken into custody. He is being held in the jail on $50,000 bond.

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
